2.1.1

The iNVH app is a unique application developed by Robert Bosch Engineers, to overcome one of the challenges of field engineers today – An innovative tool to support subjective noise assessments in the field and easy connectivity to Bosch NVH engineers. The tool comes in with a simple to use sound level meter (SLM) module, overall level vs. time module and time data module. The app uses basically the inbuilt microphones and accelerometers, which makes it very convenient. The app comes built in with latest calibration values for most mobiles (as every mobile is different in its own way). However, there is also a sound calibration tool included to improve the accuracy of the noise measurement. This calibration tool is an octave band based tool, as compared to most single value calibration available in the market. The octave band calibration allows the user to do a sensitivity correction in each and every frequency band. For certain mobiles the level of accuracy may not be up-to the mark, hence it is always advisable to do a calibration with an already calibrated phone in the market in order to improve the accuracy. Vibration however is limited to useful frequency of 100 Hz and the mobile weight.

Description

The INVH application is a unique application, created by engineer Robert Bosch, that transcends one of the challenges of field engineers today – an innovative tool to support thematic word assessment in the easy connection of field and subdivision NVH engineers. The tool comes with a common Sound Level Meter (SLM) module, vs. time module, and time data module for overall level use. The application basically uses the built-in microphone and accelerometer, which makes it very convenient. The application is built on the latest calibration standards for most mobiles (e.g. each mobile is different in its own way). However, one more word calibration tool has been included to improve the accuracy of sound measurement. This calibration tool is an octal band based tool, compared to most single standard calibration available on the market. Octal band calibration allows the user to adjust the sensitivity of each and the band at each frequency. The accuracy level of certain mobiles may not be an up-to-date mark, so it is not always a calibration with the model serial phones already on the market to improve reasonable accuracy. Vibration though limited to 100 Hz, its useful frequency and mobile weight.
Thanks to the interactive and simple GUI, as well as being a tool to support thematic evaluation, the app can also be used by students who want to do some general acoustic measurement for their project, or for operator safety assessment and many other applications. Another feature of the application is that the user can save processed data or raw data and then record sent to submissive engineers for further support or feedback. Theoretically there is no limit to the amount of data that can be stored and it depends on the memory available for the mobile.
By default, the application ship has noise calibration standards for most Android mobiles and is registered with the EULA (read EULA).
Currently the app only supports Android mobile phones and not Android tablets.
