We work hard to keep YouTube kids in family-friendly videos and use a mix of automated filters, human reviews and parental feedback created by our engineering team to protect our youngest users online. But no system is perfect and can’t slip inappropriate videos, so we’re constantly working to improve our protections and provide more features to help parents create the right experience for their family.
Customize your child’s experience with parental controls
Limit screen time: Set a time limit for how long your kids can watch and help encourage observation from watching.
Keep up with what they’re seeing: just look at this page again and you’ll always know what they’ve seen and what they’re doing new
Blocked: Don’t like a video? Block the video or the whole channel and never watch it again.
Flagging: You can always warn us about inappropriate content by flagging it in a video for review. Flagged videos are reviewed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Create unique experiences like your kids
Create up to eight kid profiles with everyone’s own viewing preferences, video suggestions and settings. Choose from “Allowed Content Only” mode or select an age category that suits your kids, “Pre-School”, “Small” or “Adult”.
Select the “Allowed Content Only” mode if you want to handpick videos, channels, and / or collections that your child has been allowed to watch. In this mode, kids will not be able to search for videos 4 “Preschool” mode designed for children 4 or under, promotes creativity, playfulness, learning and exploration. Lets explore their interests. Our “old” mode allows kids 8 or older to search and explore additional content, such as popular music and gaming videos.
